Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who was fatally shot in the 100 block of Miranda Road in West Columbia, at approximately 4 p.m., Saturday.

According to Fisher, Mr. Direko C. Thomas, 18, of Columbia was pronounced dead on the scene due to multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the incident.
