Taylor Watford Foundation Hope Cup Golf Tournament has another successful year
The Seventh Annual Taylor Watford Foundation Hope Golf Cup Tournament took place Thursday, at Golden Hills Golf and Country Club in Lexington.
Around 170 golfers registered for the tournament. With the proceeds from this year’s tournament, the Taylor Watford Foundation has raised more than $200,000 to bring awareness to the dangers of illegal drug and alcohol use. TWF also helps provide resources for families fighting the epidemic of illegal drugs that have flooded our communities.
Jade Watford told golfers Thursday that the number of overdose deaths declined this for the first time this year. Some of the reason for the decline is the availability of NARCAN. Fewer drugs are coming into the country and education and prevention programs are being conducted.
