Tackle Box Bait and Tackle is now open at 743 Meeting St. in West Columbia. The spot was most recently Jake’s Place.

It’s described as a friendly neighborhood hangout that is in a soft opening phase right now and will sell fishing bait, including: crickets; cut bait; live minnows and herring (for striper fishing.) Tackle Box Bait and Tackle has cold beer (can or draft) and wine. There’s also pool, a jukebox, games, 5 TVs and more.

According to its Facebook page, at Bait and Tackle, you can “Enjoy relaxing while talking with some friendly people about fishing or “Whatever Floats Boat”!! …..Here at Tackle Box we love fishing and the outdoors…. So if any of this appeals to you then come on down and have a cold one with your friends before that fishing trip!!! Hours 10:30am until!!!”
