Cayce Police officers were investigating an individual for trespassing and failure to obey police commands. The individual fled on foot. Out of an abundance of caution, several local schools were put on secure status and parents were notified while the search took place.

The suspect was apprehended shortly after by the City of Cayce Police Department. The City of Cayce thanks all agencies that assisted in the brief search. Further charges may be pending, and this investigation is still ongoing.
