All lanes on (Sunset Boulevard) US 378 at Lexington Medical Center were opened Tuesday night. West Columbia utility crews worked 24 hours straight to fix a major sewer issue and to minimize impact to traffic and hospital operations.

“I am incredibly thankful for the hard work they put in. Thank you to all drivers who were inconvenienced today for your patience. Things should be back to normal now,” said West Columbia Mayor Tem Miles, Tuesday night.

Utility crews are working on an emergency utility repair at the intersection of West Hospital Drive and Sunset Blvd. (US 378) in the City of West Columbia.

The westbound lanes of Sunset Blvd. are closed. Please attempt to find an alternate route. Crews are working to restore traffic but are expecting impacts throughout the day. The City will provide updates as they come.
