There will be a Stop The Violence/Save Our Legacy Parade and Community Fair Saturday (July 17) in West Columbia. The parade starts at 9 a.m. near Brookland Baptist Church, at 949 Sunset Blvd. The Community Fair will begin at 10:15 a.m. at the Brookland- Lakeview Empowerment Center, 1218 Batchelor St. It is a FREE event to support local youth.

West Columbia City Councilman Mickey Pringle said the event is an effort to show unity and to encourage safety in the community.

There will be kid-friendly activities, entertainment, and speakers to promote safety and education and awareness.
