Please join Cayce Police officers and the Cayce community taking part in a week of special fundraising opportunities to honor the life, bravery and dedication of Cayce Police Officer, Drew Barr. A special thank you to Steel Hands Brewing for hosting annual fundraising efforts for a cause so important to Officer Barr – our K9 officers.

Statement from SHB: Steel Hands Brewing is proud to honor the legacy of Officer Drew Barr with a special Fundraiser Week, taking place Tuesday through Sunday, April 22nd through April 27th at its Cayce taproom, 2350 Foreman St.

A community celebration will be held on Saturday, April 26th from 1-3pm, featuring live music. In recognition of Officer Barr’s life, and his deep dedication to his K9 unit, Steel Hands Brewing will be donating $1 per pint of its Steel Paws Wheat Ale for every pour served in the taproom during this week-long event.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit South Carolina law enforcement agencies and their K9 programs, helping support the training, care, and equipment needs of these heroic officers and their handlers. Nearly $160,000 has been raised from previous events that have gone on to purchase K9s and equipment for multiple law enforcement agencies across the Midlands.

Officer Drew Barr tragically lost his life in the line of duty in April 2022. A committed officer with a passion for his K9, Barr’s legacy lives on through continued community support and initiatives that give back to South Carolina law enforcement.

“This week is about remembering Officer Barr, celebrating his service, and supporting South Carolina law enforcement agencies and their K9 units that meant so much to him,” said Ashley Lambert, Marketing Director at Steel Hands Brewing. “We invite the community to raise a pint in his honor and join us in giving back.”

The community is encouraged to visit Steel Hands Brewing during this week to participate in the fundraiser and show their support. In addition to donations per pint, commemorative Steel Paws merchandise will be available while supplies last, with proceeds further benefiting the cause.
