State of the Art, Planet Fitness, and East Bay Deli on the C-WC Chamber’s “Love Local” Dec. 14, Parade Day Shuttle route
The Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber has a whole Parade Day scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 14. The C-WC Parade of Lights begins at 5:30 p.m. Before the parade, the Chamber will conduct a Holiday Business Shuttle from noon until 4 p.m. It begins at The North Pole (C-WC Chamber HQ on 12th Street) where there will be live music, entertainment and food.
This is Part 2 of a 2-Part chronicle of the businesses that will be included in the Parade Day Business Shuttle. Part 1 – Click here – chronicled West Columbia businesses.
On Dec. 14, there will be multiple shuttles continuously circling a 5-mile route through the business districts and stopping at 11 “hop-on and hop-off” locations. There will be 90 businesses open for “Love Local” holiday shopping.
The Cayce Historical Museum will be offering free tours, too.
Chamber President and CEO Tim James explains the reasoning behind the Parade Day effort.
“As a Chamber of Commerce and Visitor Program, our intent is to bring people to our community to enjoy a weekend of fun, to dine local, shop local and explore local,” he said, “ultimately to Love Local and support our small businesses that employ and support locally.”
James is also promoting] the Free Movie Night at Brookland Cayce High School on Friday evening, Dec. 13 at 5:30.”
Many Cayce businesses are a part of the Holiday Business Shuttle.
“I couldn’t think of any bigger support than the parade shopping day that the Chamber has created to get people familiarized with our district and excited about coming here to do business,” said Barbara Wright, owner of State of the Art.
The Bobenage Family, owners of Planet Fitness, are looking forward to Parade Day and the parade.
“We at Planet Fitness are excited to be part of the community and support local businesses,” said Brian Bobenage.” Events like Parade Day are a fun way to bring people together and help to showcase our facility to those who might not be familiar with us. As a local family-owned franchise, we understand the importance of supporting small businesses and contributing to local celebrations such as Parade Day in our community.”
East Bay Deli, also in Parkland Plaza, is also on the shuttle stop list.
“Parade Day and the Holiday Parade of Lights, is so special to use for several reasons,” said Tara Craps, district manager for the Cayce East Bay Deli. “It gives us a chance to show support for our community.”
Craps also said the parade offers East Bay Deli the opportunity to bring more local customers to experience the restaurant. She said East Bay and Mai Poke (beside East Bay Deli) joined the Cayce community in 2021 and since opening both have seen the appeal of the people who live here.
