Springdale’s National Night Out is Tuesday

Springdale’s seventh annual National Night Out Tuesday from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the park on 2915 Platt Springs Rd. It’s called a Night of Heroes.

National Night Out reinforces cooperation, collaboration, partnership and camaraderie between community members, leaders, local businesses and police officers. The evening creates an opportunity for neighbors and police to celebrate together and strengthen relationships.

The celebration will kick off with a performance by the Springdale Elementary School choir, followed by dances from Silverjax Cheer and Tumbling, Goins Dance, and Rhythmics Performing Arts. The event will also feature more than 32 local organizations and businesses.

Springdales’ National Night Out features free food and drinks, a local DJ, public safety and military vehicles, and a bounce house. Children are encouraged to come dressed as superheroes, and will receive a Halloween goodie bag if they stop by the Springdale Police Department’s booth.

Police Chief Kevin Cornett said the  event is all about building relationships that foster a safer environment.

Cornett is available to provide additional information about the event, and answer any questions: 803-796-3160.
