Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits breaks ground in Lexington County’s Saxe Gotha Industrial Park on $80 million state-of-the-art distribution facility

Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits officially broke ground Wednesday in Lexington County’s Saxe Gotha Industrial Park. The site of the new facility is right off of 12th Street extension in West Columbia. The company is the world’s preeminent distributor of beverage alcohol.

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster and Lexington County Chairwoman Beth Carrigg both spoke about the new 85-acre site. It will feature a 412,000 foot warehouse and 2 story offices.

In March of 2023, Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits of South Carolina (Southern Glazer’s) announced plans to relocate operations to Lexington County. The company is investing $80 million to build a new, state-of-the-art distribution facility.

Southern Glazer’s is a leading distributor of beverage alcohol and a family-owned company, with operations in 44 states as well as the District of Columbia and Canada. In 2022, Southern Glazer’s was listed as one of Forbes’ Best Employers for Diversity.

Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits is relocating operations from Columbia to the Saxe Gotha Industrial Park. The new Southern Glazer’s new distribution facility will replace the company’s current operations. The new Lexington County facility will help the company meet growing demand and better serve customers and suppliers in the market for the future.
