South Congaree Rodeo awarded Business of the Quarter at the Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber Breakfast, Tuesday

The South Congaree Rodeo was recognized as the Business of the Quarter by the Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce. The announcement was made at the Chamber’s monthly Business Breakfast, Tuesday. It was held at the Wil Lou Gray Opportunity School in West Columbia.

Rodeo promoters Rance Woodley, his wife Janice, and son Josh received the award, along with South Congaree Mayor Cindy Campbell.

Chamber President Tim James said the South Congaree Bull Bash, a month ago, drew close-to 5,000 spectators. The rodeo is in July and it’s one of the top five in America. The Bull Bash sold out and ticket seekers had to be turned away. At Tuesdays breakfast meeting, Rance Woodley said 700 seats are being added to the South Congaree Arena at 395 Oak St. He also said the rodeo uses local vendors only. James said the town’s rodeo has an economic impact of $1 million. Business of the Quarter is sponsored by House of Raeford. House of Raeford’s Chuck Underhill is a Chamber Board member.
