South Carolina Early Voters are showing up in high volume, turnout high in West Columbia, too

Early voters in South Carolina are voting at a record-breaking pace. There were 125,900 voters turning out on the first day of early voting. In 2022, 70,100 voted on the first day of early voting. The Early Voting Period for the 2024 General Election in South Carolina started on Monday, Oct. 21.

Cars lined the street, Tuesday, at the West Columbia Community Center at 754 B Ave. That is the Early Voting location in West Columbia.

Early voting centers are open 8:30 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. during the early voting period. This is the first presidential election with no-excuse early voting.

The last day of Early Voting is Saturday, Nov. 2. (Early Voting is Closed Sunday October 27.)
