Ground has been broken and a “Sonic Opening Soon” sign has been placed at a fenced-in work site in Cayce.

The new Sonic is coming to Airport Boulevard. Construction has begun in front of the Country Inn & Suites by Radisson at 2245 Airport Blvd, in Cayce. It’s near the Charleston/Spartanburg on-ramp to I-26.

Sonic is a fast food restaurant with curb service. Sonic has Cheeseburgers, hot dogs, shakes and more.

The hours for the West Columbia Sonic at 2424 Augusta Road are: Sunday thru Monday from 6 a.m. until midnight.
There are more than 3,500 SONIC restaurants in 46 states, according to the Sonic Website.
