Snow is likely in Lexington County, but not much accumulation, and it will be cold
Snow is likely in Lexington County on Tuesday night, and it will be cold.
The National Weather Service in Columbia puts the chance at 62 percent that Lexington County will see snow, but accumulation is expected to only be one-tenth of an inch or less. There’s a 15 percent chance for an inch of snow and a 7 percent chance for 2 inches of snow in Lexington County.
Counties to the south of Lexington, including Barnwell, and Orangeburg and Clarendon are expected to see more snow accumulation.
A cold weather advisory has been issued for Lexington County and that will run until 10 a.m. Wednesday. Low temperatures in the teens have been forecast for Wednesday and Thursday morning, and there will be a wind chill that makes it feel even colder.
- Tuesday the high temperature is expected to be 37 with a low of 19. The forecast is mostly cloudy with light snow possible, beginning in the late afternoon.
- Wednesday the high temperature is expected to be 37 with a low of 21 degrees.
- Thursday will be mostly cloudy with a high of 41 and a low of 17 degrees.
- Friday it will be 48 degrees and mostly cloudy with a low of 23.
