Units from the Columbia-Richland Fire Department were on scene of an apartment fire at Tropical Ridge Apartments off of Stoneridge Drive in Columbia. It was reported by the CFD around 4:30 p.m. Friday The apartments are near the Embassy Suites hotel. The smoke from the fire could be seen from West Columbia.

The Columbia Fire Department reported that multiple people have been rescued and all hands are working.
