Shots fired on the Lexington Medical Center campus, Friday morning

The Lexington Medical Center main hospital in the West Columbia Emergency Room was on lockdown due to shots fired, Friday morning. An officer-involved shooting happened on the hospital grounds at approximately 9:00 a.m.

A suspect was shot, according to a report, by LMC Police. The person shot was then taken to the ER for treatment. West Columbia PD is assisting LMC Police. A code silver was called, according to one person in the ER when the shot was fired. The lockdown has been lifted.
