Ashley Hunter, spokeswoman for the City of Cayce issued a statement Saturday afternoon. It read: “There was a report of gunfire at the BC football stadium around 4:30 PM. (Saturday.) Fireworks were inappropriately set off and the Police Department is investigating that.”

Others reported at least a dozen law enforcement vehicles at Brookland-Cayce High School and there was a report of “shots fired” before the city issued its statement.
