The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department has released a composite image of a suspect in a recent sexual assault.
The victim told investigators it happened about 4 a.m. Thursday (March 3) in the general area of Fairlane Drive/Pine Lake Drive between Sunset Boulevard and Ephrata Drive. That’s in an unincorporated part of West Columbia, close to Lexington.

A man grabbed the victim’s hair as she was walking and threw her to the ground. She describes the suspect as between 5’8” and 6’ with a skinny build. She also told detectives the man smelled like an auto shop or grease.
