Lexington Police worked a crash, Saturday at Sunset Blvd. (US-378) near Hope Ferry Road that resulted in the closing of lanes for a while.

The wreck was caused by a driver leaving the outbound lane of Sunset Blvd., crossing over the median, and striking several vehicles in the inbound lanes.

The at-fault driver was arrested for Driving Under the Influence as well as Assault and Battery after attacking an off-duty paramedic who stopped to give the driver medical aid.

The at-fault driver and several others involved in the collision sustained injuries and we’re transported by EMS to the hospital.
