Traffic was at a standstill, Monday afternoon on I-26 near Cayce. The City of Cayce issued an alert that read: “Please avoid the area of 26 East between Highway 1 and Airport Blvd. Multiple accidents in and law enforcement and emergency personnel are on the scene.”

According to the South Carolina DOT, one crash happened at 3:41 at Exit 113 (SC 302; Columbia Airport; Cayce.)

All lanes were blocked at one point and there were several emergency vehicles on the scene. Lanes began to reopen around 5 p.m.
