State Sen. Nikki Setzler of West Columbia received the Clemson Board of Visitors Legislative Leadership Award, Tuesday.

“I’m honored and humbled to receive this leadership award,” Setzler said of being chosen.

He said he works every day as a legislator to help make public education and higher education better.

“I appreciate the people who support me,” said Setzler. He also noted that his daughter, Jamie Allen, a teacher at Pineview Middle School in West Columbia, is a graduate of Clemson University.
