Sen. Katrina Shealy gets primary opponent, Michael Sturkie files

State Sen. Katrina Shealy will have an opponent.

SC Senate.
Michael Sturkie has filed as a Republican to run against incumbent Katrina Shealy, for S.C. Senate Seat 23. The senate seat covers a large part of Lexington County. 
The Republican Primary is June 14.
Sturkie ran for Senate Seat 23 against former Sen. Jakie Knotts in 2008. Knotts defeated Shealy and Sturkie in the primary.
Shealy forced Knotts to a run-off that year, in the three-candidate primary.
According to information from his previous campaign, Sturkie has lived in District 23 for more than three decades. He owns  grading and landfill-related businesses.
