The early Monday morning wreck involving an overturned semi-truck and trailer on South Lake Drive/SC-6 at I-20 has been removed from the roadway and all lanes have reopened.

The collision was caused by the driver of the semi driving too fast for conditions when exiting I-20 and was unable to make the turn onto South Lake Drive safely.

Earlier: Lexington Police advised drivers to avoid South Lake Drive just before 6 a.m. Monday. A semi-truck and trailer overturned on South Lake Drive {SC} 6 at I-20 and all inbound and outbound lanes were closed.

It may be an extended closure due to a heavy-duty wrecker needing to respond to the scene, according to the LPD.
