Last week westmetronews.net ran a photo of West Columbia (or New Brookland)  officials. The photo was taken in 1937 at 103 State Street, in what is now called West Columbia. It belongs to Bill Mooneyhan of Mooneyhan’s Auto Repair in West Columbia. Much of Mooneyhan’s family has a history as civic leaders in the area. Levi Mooneyhan (in the photo) was New Brookland’s Fire Chief.

The photo of Mooneyhan’s has another side that identifies the West Columbia (New Brookland) officials in the 1937 photo. Here is a copy of that photo, with the names of the leaders.
