See Christian Singer Mitch McVicker in Concert Oct. 15, at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church, West Columbia

Mitch McVicker in Concert – Thursday, October 15 • 6:30 PM at Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church • West Columbia, SC

Everyone in the community is invited to a special evening of music, stories, laughter, and faith when Christian singer-songwriter Mitch McVicker comes to Mt. Hermon Lutheran Church on Thursday, October 15 at 6:30 p.m.

The concert is free and open to the public, with a love offering received during the evening.

Mitch McVicker has a remarkable story. His musical journey began when he became friends with the late singer-songwriter Rich Mullins. The two became roommates, close friends, musical partners, and collaborators. Rich served as an important mentor to Mitch and encouraged him to pursue his own calling as an artist.

In 1997, Mitch and Rich were involved in a devastating automobile accident while traveling to a benefit concert. Rich died from his injuries, while Mitch suffered life-threatening injuries and a lengthy recovery that included a coma-causing brain injury, collapsed lungs, broken bones, and nerve damage.

One of the songs Mitch and Rich wrote together, “My Deliverer,” later received the Gospel Music Association Dove Award for Song of the Year.

But Mitch’s story didn’t end with that tragedy. After recovering, he continued to write, record, and perform, developing a distinctive musical voice of his own. His solo career has included nearly 2,500 concerts in 49 states and 13 countries, as well as numerous albums and other recording projects.

And a Mitch McVicker concert is anything but ordinary.

His performances combine thoughtful songwriting, humor, storytelling, testimony, and inventive music-making. Mitch is known for creating percussion loops from everyday objects, household items, “junk,” and children’s toys and turning them into music. His concerts connect the ordinary things of everyday life with deeper questions of faith and the presence of God.

Mitch’s music comes from real-life experiences—questions, struggles, wonder, joy, disappointment, and hope. His message centers on the conviction that God is involved in our lives in ways we often overlook, not just in extraordinary moments but in the practical, everyday details of life.

Whether you are a longtime fan of Rich Mullins, already know Mitch’s music, enjoy live Christian music, or have never heard him before, we invite you to join us for what promises to be a memorable evening.
