Crews from the SC Department of Transportation were onsite, working to restore power to traffic lights at Augusta Road and 12th Street in West Columbia, Monday morning.

A fatal crash between a tractor-trailer and a vehicle late Sunday night resulted in the closing of the intersection. West Columbia Police were on the scene to block streets while crews worked to restore power. Two people were killed in the collision that occurred around 11:30 p.m. The names of the deceased have not yet been released by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office.
