The South Carolina Department of Transportation is currently conducting repairs on I-26 Eastbound at mile marker 121 in Calhoun County due to a drainage issue. The repairs have closed two of the three lanes of travel, causing traffic delays. The Sandy Run Fire District reported a sinkhole at the location earlier Thursday.

Thursday evening, SCDOT crews were expediting repairs in order to reopen all lanes of travel.

SCDOT encourages drivers to seek alternate routes, if possible and asks drivers to slow down and pay attention to crews and signs when driving near work zone. S
