SC-6 One-Way Pair Road Project to go live June 23
The Town of Lexington is slated to go live with the SC-6 One-Way Pair Project on Saturday, June 23. This is the first traffic and tourism project funded by the 2% Hospitality Tax.
Construction began in October 2017 and will be finalized in July 2018.
The purpose of the project is to make the intersection of Main Street at Lake Drive flow more efficiently. By splitting the northbound and southbound movements, the signals at Lake Drive and Church Street can service twice as many vehicles as it does today. This increase in efficiency will allow more green signal time to be allotted to east and west Main Street at Lake Drive and Church Street.
Additional updates concerning construction, road closures and traffic safety will be issued by the Lexington Police Department.
