Savage Craft music, tubing, BBQ, peaches, fireworks – Your West Columbia July 4th Guide

From river recreation, barbecue, and craft beer, to live music, fireworks, and even the annual Lexington County Peach Festival, If you live in West Columbia there’s many ways to celebrate July 4.  

While West Columbia City Hall will be closed on July 4, some West Columbia businesses will open for July 4th holiday festivities.

In the past Savage Craft Ale Works at 430 Center Street has not been an option for Fourth of July, but not this year.

Hite’s BBQ

“Savage Craft will be open on July 4th. We have been closed historically, but since it’s a Friday we are bringing in Lauren Hill to play on our stage from 7 until 10 p.m.  We’re opening the place up for those looking for somewhere to grab dinner and relax,” said Victoria Porter, Savage Craft general manager.”

Palmetto Outdoor River Tubing

Another popular West Columbia activity during the week of July 4th, includes tubing trips down the Congaree River.  

Fourth of July is typically the busiest day of the year for Palmetto Outdoor, said Michael Mayo, owner of Palmetto Outdoor. Palmetto Outdoor is one of the top river tubing and kayaking centers in the Southeast. Palmetto Outdoor tubing trips end at the West Columbia Riverwalk. You can book your trip at the Riverwalk.

West Columbia barbeque is a part of the Fourth of July celebration for many.

The Fourth of July is the busiest day of the year at Hite’s Barbeque at 240 Dreher Rd, West Columbia. Barbeque lovers fill the Hite’s parking lot on July 4th and there’s a long line of customers who have made Hite’s Barbeque a tradition on July 4.

Hite’s smokes its barbecue  over oak and hickory wood. For July 4th Hite’s will cook 750 half-chickens; six whole hogs; 250, 25-pound hams; 400 racks of ribs, including baby back ribs; and 400 gallons of hash.

Town of Lexington Independence Day Celebration – July 4, 2025 | 7 PM | Icehouse Amphitheater
Celebrate Independence Day with the Town of Lexington at the Icehouse Amphitheater. This is a free event for the whole community to enjoy. Click for more info

The 246th Army Band will perform a patriotic concert starting at 7 PM, followed by a spectacular fireworks show beginning around 9:20 PM. Attendees can enjoy beer, wine, nonalcoholic beverages, and food available for purchase throughout the evening.

Patriotic music during the fireworks can be heard by tuning in to 93.1 FM The Lake. Prime viewing locations include the Icehouse Amphitheater, Main Street restaurants, Lexington Square Park, Lexington Veterans Monument, and public parking lots in the downtown area.

More July 4th Celebrations
Fireworks with the Phil is returning to Segra Park for the 5th annual Orchestral Independence Day Celebration on July 2. Following a sell-out crowd of over 6,000 in 2023, the Fireflies and the Philharmonic are moving the Fireworks to the exterior of the ballpark to create more capacity inside Segra Park in expectation of another sold out performance.

The Lexington County Blowfish Baseball Game and Fireworks Show
Fireworks: Stick around after the game for a “Concert in the Sky” fireworks show. This July 4th it’s being billed as “We Love America Night! It’s a showdown you won’t want to miss as the Blowfish take on the Glowfish in a star-spangled, red, white and blue battle for glory. We split up our summer team into two for this 7-inning game that has a two-hour time limit. Cap off the night with a HUGE Independence Fireworks show that will leave you in awe of both the game and the sky. Grab your tickets now–because nothing says “I love America” like baseball, fireworks and hot dogs. Lexington County Peach Festival

Peach Festival

The famous Lexington County Peach Festival is a one-day, family-friendly festival in Gilbert on July 4, 2025. The Peach Festival celebrates the community, Independence Day, and peaches. Click here for more info

Hosted by the Gilbert Community Club, it’s filled with family-friendly activities, delicious fresh peach treats, and warm Southern hospitality. Look forward to the Peach Parade, an antique car show, local craft vendors, food trucks, a spectacular fireworks show, and an outstanding lineup of live music. Admission to the festival is free; there is a $5 fee for parking.

Fort Jackson Fireworks 

The Fort Jackson 4th of July Celebration is July 4, from 4 pm – 9 pm. It’s open to the public. Celebrate the nation’s birthday for independence, Fort Jackson style with live music, food trucks, amusement rides and fireworks. Click for more info

And make sure you celebrate respectfully. The City of West Columbia Fireworks Ordinance allows for the discharging or shooting of fireworks on July 4th, Independence Day, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. only. Please refrain from discharging fireworks at any other time. It is otherwise unlawful to shoot fireworks inside the City Limits.
