Savage Craft Ale Works not ready yet, but getting closer

Savage Craft Ale Works is a high-profile, much-anticipated project at 430 Center Street. Work on it is progressing. The schedule for completion has been disrupted due to the coronavirus, and the availability of construction materials.

Savage Craft Ale Works is being built in the former West Columbia (1925) City Hall and Fire Station. It ties into West Columbia’s Interactive Art Park on Meeting Street.

The two-story, 3,000 square-foot building is being converted into a taproom on the ground floor in the space of the former fire station. The second floor will be used for private dining and meeting space.

A 5,000 square-foot addition off the back of the building for the microbrewery vats and a rooftop terrace has been added. The terrace overlooks a beer garden, a fire pit, and a sound stage.
