Saluda River water level rising with Lake Murray drawdown

Lake Murray is releasing a significant amount of water from the dam over a 12-hour period beginning. Expect to see a noticeable increase in water levels along the Lower Saluda River, and the Congaree River. The West Columbia Fire Department announced the lake draw-down and said the river flow will increase with the water release. The portion of the West Columbia Riverwalk from Moffatt Street to the Gervais Street Bridge is temporarily closed to the public due to flooding. Please use caution if you are planning to be near or on the river.
