Saluda River students perform at holiday events
Saluda River Academy’s Arts Unlimited Performs at Holiday Wishes Event
Arts Unlimited from Saluda River Academy for the Arts was invited to perform on Saturday, December 5th at the Annual Holiday Wishes sponsored by the Survivor Outreach Services of Fort Jackson. The performing group presented Christmas music and the “Armed Services Medley.” SRAA sponsors of the performing group include: Gale McLeod, music teacher, Kayla Jennings, dance teacher, Stephanie Walker, theatre teacher, Nina Brumble, visual art teacher, and Cathy McGill, accompanist. Principal is Tonya Fryer.
SRAA Arts Unlimited performed at last years Holiday Wishes event when it was sponsored by the SC National Guard. The school was invited again to perform by this year’s coordinator for Outreach Services of Fort Jackson. This event was for families who have lost loved ones during military service to our country. The families of these South Carolina servicemen were presented a Gold Star ornament during a ceremony honoring those lost. “We feel it is an honor to serve these families in this way,” said Gale McLeod, SRAA music teacher. One of Saluda River Academy’s former students was lost in Afghanistan during 2014. Fort Jackson and the South Carolina National Guard jointly serve our state with Survivor Outreach Services and alternate sponsoring and hosting this annual event.

On Friday, December 4th, Saluda River Academy for the Arts performing group Arts Unlimited, delighted the audience at the West Columbia Tree Lighting!
