Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has released the identity of the River Bluff High School football player who collapsed on the field during practice shortly after 7:00 P.M. Wednesday.
Lewis N. Simpkins, 14 years old, of Lexington was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Lexington Medical Center Emergency Department.An autopsy will be performed on August 11 to determine the cause of death.
The Lexington County Coroner’s Office is continuing to investigate this case and will release any further details as they become available.Our office wishes to send our sincere condolences to the Simpkins family, as well as the friends, student body, coaches, teachers, and all of the staff of River Bluff High
