West Columbia Riverwalk has been reopened.

The ribbon was cut on the paved walkway by the Congaree River. The floods of October 2015 had washed out the Riverwalk boardwalk under the Gervais Street Bridge.

West Columbia Mayor Bobby Horton cut the ribbon to reintroduce the popular and scenic walking and running destination.

Soon-to-be Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber Board President, Bill Mooneyhan, also spoke of the benefits Riverwalk brings to West Columbia.
