B Avenue Bike Lane Ribbon Cutting

The City of West Columbia held a B Avenue Bike Lane Ribbon Cutting ceremony, Thursday. It was at the West Columbia Community Center, 754 B Avenue.

Mayor Bobby Horton

West Columbia Mayor Bobby Horton and Mayor Pro Tem, Tem Miles spoke of the benefits the new bike trail offers. State Sen. Nikki Setzler and Rep. Micah Caskey also attended with members of the West Columbia City Council.

Horton called the bike lane another successful project that improves the quality of life in West Columbia. He said the bike path increases access to the shops and restaurants from Riverwalk to Triangle City.

Miles thanked the SCDOT and said the bike trail has been five years in the making and helps since there are not sidewalks on B Avenue. City of West Columbia Communications Director Anna Huffman thanked Grants and Special Projects Director Tara Geenwood for her persistence to make the bike trail possible.
