Revitalization: Pyramid Contracting Bringing George Robert’s – “refined ambiance” Restaurant – to State Street in Cayce
A new chapter of growth and revitalization is taking shape in the heart of Cayce. Thanks to the vision and leadership of one of the Greater C-WC Chamber Pacesetters, Pyramid Contracting, known for their commitment to excellence in commercial and residential construction, is now making waves with a redevelopment project that brings new life—and new flavor—to a key property on state Street, across from Brookland-Cayce High School.
At the center of this transformation is the second location of George Roberts, a sophisticated dining concept coming to a space currently undergoing a complete renovation by Pyramid Contracting. “This isn’t just another commercial build—it’s a carefully crafted partnership designed to uplift the entire area;” said Ben Kelly, of NAI Columbia.
“We’re proud to be part of something that not only enhances the physical landscape, but brings long-term value to the community,” said Bobby Alexander, President of Pyramid Contracting. “Projects like this combine our passion for quality with a broader goal of supporting the growth of our region.”
George Roberts, already a local favorite with a thriving location in the Irmo/Ballentine area, is known for offering an elevated coastal dining experience. The restaurant specializes in fresh oysters, expertly curated seafood dishes, prime steaks, and an impressive selection of fine wines—all served in a polished, welcoming setting that invites conversation and connection.
Rob Schoolmeester, owner of George Roberts, said that the restaurant is thoughtfully designed for those who appreciate great food, refined ambiance, and outstanding service. “It’s the kind of place where guests can unwind, enjoy thoughtfully prepared dishes, and savor every bite and sip” says Schoolmeester.
The new location on State Street in Cayce will build on that reputation, offering an upscale dining experience in a beautifully restored space—thanks to Pyramid Contracting’s attention to detail and high standards. The project reflects a larger effort to revitalize and grow the area, attract vibrant new businesses, and continue building a sense of place and pride in the community.
The leadership of Greater CWC Chamber & Visitors Programs is excited to be a part of this local investment. “By breathing new life into this building, Pyramid Contracting is not just remodeling a structure—they’re helping reshape the future of the neighborhood, and creating a ripple effect that will benefit other local businesses and residents alike” says Lindsey Miles, Board Chair.
The Chamber’s Pacesetter members, like Pyramid Contracting, are more than just business leaders—they are community builders. Projects like this one exemplify the Chamber’s mission to foster growth and partnerships, support small businesses, and drive revitalization across the Greater CWC.
