House of Raeford’s non-profit organization, FLOCK, has announced a new partnership with LightHouse for Life, a non-profit organization seeking to take steps against sex trafficking in the midlands and across the state of South Carolina.

LightHouse for Life is in the process of opening the only safe house in South Carolina, called Karis Home, for the purpose of rehabilitating victims of human trafficking.

FLOCK Director Chuck Underhill presented a donation of  $14,959 donation to Jen Thompson, Executive Director of LightHouse for Life on Tuesday.

The presentation was held at LightHouse for Life’s offices at 300 West Main St. Lexington.  The donation is being made to cover the cost of the Karis Home’s security system, which the facility is required to have prior to its opening.

“All of us at LightHouse for Life are incredibly grateful for the generosity of our friends at House of Raeford,” Thompson said.  “We had a huge need and we did not know where the money was going to come from.  That was until I got a call from Chuck Underhill and he said that House of Raeford, through their non-profit, FLOCK, would like to cover the entire cost of the security system.”

“We could not be more excited to partner with LightHouse for Life,” said Underhill.  “Sex trafficking is a major issue in our community that puts all of our children at risk.  Through their awareness campaigns, their support of our first responders, and their soon to open Karis Home, House of Raeford is proud to invest and support all of the great things L4L is a part of.”

“I believe House of Raeford’s partnership was a catalyst to an incredible amount of giving we received,” Thompson said.  “Wins bring more wins.  This is a huge win and it has been a huge blessing for us.”

Lighthouse for Life was established to teach the people of South Carolina about the realities of the current plague of human trafficking, not just globally or nationally, but right here in their own communities. They strive to educate and raise awareness about human trafficking in order to provide people with the knowledge and tools needed to empower them to detect the warning signs of potential human trafficking situations in an effort to protect their own communities. FLOCK is an arm of House of Raeford, Columbia Farms. FLOCK works with food banks, feeding programs, churches, schools, outreach ministries and a variety of other organizations within the geographic area around their facilities by contributing product, monetary donations, volunteers and prayer support.
