Rep. Micah Caskey is the speaker at the Cayce-West Columbia Chamber Breakfast, Tuesday

State Rep. Micah Caskey spoke at the Greater Cayce-West Columbia Chamber of Commerce Breakfast, Tuesday at Stone River, in West Columbia. It was sponsored by Kay Plumbing, Heating and Cooling. The program featured remarks from Rep. Micah Caskey and recognized Butch Wallace Insurance Agency as Small Business of the Quarter, an award sponsored by Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union. Emphasizing the morning’s theme of connection and community, Konrad of Kay Plumbing, Heating & Cooling shared the message, “Relationships are everything.”
Then Caskey spoke.
“Our community works best when people stay engaged,” he said. Whether that’s through local boards, small businesses, or organizations like the Chamber. Civic participation is what keeps South Carolina strong. I’m always encouraged by the level of energy and entrepreneurship I see from our local business leaders. The Chamber plays a huge role in creating an environment where investment and innovation can thrive.”
Caskey said his work at the State House is in line with the Chamber’s goals, via legislation.

“One of my priorities this legislative session is continuing to make South Carolina a place where businesses can grow and families can succeed,” he said. “That includes meaningful tax relief that lets people keep more of what they earn. When government listens to job creators, we get better policy and stronger communities.”
Caskey also said: “We are working toward responsible tax cuts that reward work, encourage investment, and keep South Carolina competitive with our neighboring states.”
“Our local economy succeeds because of people willing to invest their time and resources here. The Chamber helps bring those voices together in a constructive way.”
“Strong communities don’t happen by accident — they’re built by citizens who stay engaged. I encourage more people to participate, attend meetings, and help shape the direction of our state.”
“I’m optimistic about the direction of this legislative session. We have an opportunity to reduce the tax burden while still protecting core services and supporting long-term growth.”
