Registration open for Lexington 2 school choice students for 2021-22
Registration is now open for Lexington Two students interested in applying to attend a school outside their regular attendance zone.
Limited School Choice tries to provide parents who are legal residents of Lexington Two with the means to enroll their K5 -12 children in a specific school based on an identified need. Applicants must have a record of good behavior and good attendance. School Choice is not an option for 3K and 4K students.
The application deadline is March 19, 2021.
Students already on Limited School Choice who will be returning to the same school for the 2021-22 academic year do not have to fill out a new application. However, those already on Limited School Choice who want to continue in the feeder school program (fifth to sixth grade, eighth to ninth grade) will need to complete a new application. Current Wood Elementary first grade students who are zoned for second grade at Congaree Elementary must submit a Limited School Choice application to be considered to remain at Wood.
Approved reasons for requesting school choice are ranked by the district in priority order. Requests will be granted based on the priority order and the enrollment capacity of the requested school. If the number of applicants exceeds the determined enrollment capacity of a specific school, a waiting list for that school and grade level will be created. Turning in an application for Limited School Choice does not guarantee placement.
When requesting school choice, parents must agree to:
- Transport the student by car to and from school each day (no school bus transportation)
- Ensure punctuality/daily attendance, and be accessible to the school as needed
- Ensure the student will maintain a good behavior record
Limited School Choice print applications are available at Lexington Two schools, while online applications are available by clicking here.
