Registration begins Aug. 8 for Lexington 2’s adult education program
Dawn Kujawa – Lexington 2 Communications Director – Registration will begin the week of August 8 for the fall 2021 session of Lexington Two’s adult education program.
Classes will be held in-person at the Lexington Two Community Education Center, 114 Hook Ave., West Columbia. Start dates and times for fall will be announced at a later date. Registration is by appointment only; call (803) 739-4048. There is a $25 registration fee, but classes are free.
“Now is the time to finish your high school credential,” said Director Christy Henderson. “The job market in the Midlands area is strong, and qualified applicants are in demand. Earning your high school credential could put you ahead of the pack and on the road to your dream career.”
The Lexington Two adult education program, which operates in conjunction with Lexington Four, includes a number of classes — all free — for students who left school without a diploma. In addition to GED preparation and high school diploma completion, the adult education program offers Career Readiness Certificate preparation, academic refresher and English for speakers of other languages. Services also are available to help with employment, training and college admission.
Over the past two school years, the adult education program has served 1,118 adults.
Counselors will be on hand during registration to work with students on offerings that will best suit their schedules and career goals.
