Record number of absentee ballots returned in South Carolina
A record number of more than 260,000 absentee ballots have been issued statewide, according to the S.C. Election Commission.
And of those issued, a record number of more than 230,000 absentee ballots have been returned.
According to data collected during the 2014 midterm, about 157,000 absentee ballots were cast. That was the previous record.
Tuesday is the day of the General Election. Polls are open for in-person voting from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. You must be registered to vote.
