Rainbow Drive bridge to be open Oct. 31, says SCDOT

The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is working to replace the bridge on Rainbow Drive over Interstate 26 in Springdale.

According to the SCDOT, the work schedule on the bridge has been slowed due to an unforeseen utility delay and the necessary reallocation of resources toward an emergency bridge repair (to the Leaphart Road Brige, which is now open.)

Pending any further delays due to weather conditions or other circumstances, the new bridge should be opened to traffic by Oct. 31. The original schedule called for a spring 2018 opening.
The current detour includes SC 602 (Platt Springs Road) and S-32-71 (Wattling Road.) SCDOT photos.
