Raging water takes chunk out of Botanical Parkway

As flood waters raged throughout West Columbia Sunday, toward the Saluda River, a portion of Botanical Parkway was taken out.

Jess Cruser, who lives close to the damaged area, said she heard a loud crash on Sunday morning, about 9 a.m.
The road leads to the Riverbanks Zoo Botanical Garden on the Lexington County side. It is a county-maintained road and serves visitors to the zoo and botanical garden, which hosts one million guests a year.
