A single-vehicle collision into a power pole with downed lines at the 800 block of East Main Street has all lanes of the road closed.

Inbound traffic on Augusta Road/East Main Street into the Town of Lexington is being detoured onto Swartz Road, and outbound traffic on East Main Street is being detoured onto Taylor Drive.

The road closure and detours will last several hours, and residents and businesses in the area will lose electricity while Dominion Energy is making these repairs.

The crash could affect morning commutes and church traffic in this area of the Town of Lexington.  The work to replace the power pole and downed lines could take until mid-morning to complete.
