After initially announcing that Black Rooster would open on Tuesday, Owner Kristian Miemi said Monday he has decided to move the reopening of the restaurant to mid-July.

Black Rooster is in the Brookland complex at Meeting Street and Alexander Road, in West Columbia.

Niemi said after reconsidering the health issues surrounding the coronavirus crisis, he decided it would be better to wait to open his restaurant.

He said Black Rooster would offer some special events until it reopens.
