The Pineview Dixie Youth Baseball Rookie Division All-Stars fell short in the team’s quest for the DYB State Championship. Pineview lost to Gregg Park at Lemon Park in Barnwell by a score of 17-6.

The Rookie Division players are ages 5 and 6 and finish the season as the DYB State Runner-up.

“I couldn’t be more proud of this team,” said Coach Jeff Berry. “They had a hard road ahead of them but battled and played their hearts out and left it all out on the field! This 2/2 is an amazing group of young kids with a very bright future.”

Pineview of West Columbia, was the Region 4 Champion and qualified for the 12-team State Tournament that began Saturday.

Pineview defeated Batesburg-Leesville 22-6 and D2 Baseball 21-3. Pineview also defeated Greer and Blythewood. Both of Pineview’s losses in the tournament were to Gregg Park.
