Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died due to a single-vehicle accident on Saturday at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Willow Forks Road
in Lexington County.

According to Fisher, Mr. Marty Shealy, Jr., 33, of Batesburg was killed when his vehicle left the road. The vehicle struck a tree. Shealy, who was not wearing his seat belt when the collision occurred. He died at the scene due to traumatic injuries sustained upon impact.

A passenger in the vehicle, who was wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

The accident remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
