A Pelion woman has been arrested for allegedly making a bomb threat that was called into Fort Ponds Elementary School.

Felissa Connelley is facing charges of threatening the use of weapons of mass destruction, according to the Pelion Police Department.
A police report said on Dec. 13, 2019 an unknown female caller said “there is a bomb in the school.” The threat, police said, was repeated twice to a school employee who took the call.

The school was then evacuated. Three other local schools were also placed on lock down as a precaution.

The State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) responded to the school and used bomb-searching dogs to look for a threat. No devices were found.
Investigators found the call was made from a voice-over internet protocol phone app.

Search warrants for electronic records revealed that the call was made by Felissa Connelley, said law enforcement officials.
