Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the individual who died in a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident in the 800 block of Old Cherokee Road in the Lexington area of Lexington County, Saturday.

According to Fisher, Mr. Steven Ezell Christopher, 51, of Lexington was walking westbound
when a vehicle traveling westbound left the right side of the roadway and struck him. The driver of the
vehicle left the scene of the accident and returned on Sunday morning, to report the
accident. Mr. Christopher was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Lexington County Coroner’s Office, South Carolina Highway Patrol, and South Carolina Highway
Patrol MAIT continue to investigate the incident.
