Pedestrian struck and killed in Cayce, coroner identifies

Lexington County Coroner Margaret Fisher has identified the pedestrian who was killed due to being struck by a motor vehicle Tuesday around 7 p.m. The incident occurred in the 2300 block of Old Frink Street in Cayce.

According to Fisher, Mr. Terry Sparks, 58, was walking in the road when he was struck by a vehicle. Sparks was transported to an area hospital and pronounced dead a short time later due to his injuries. The driver of the vehicle, who was not injured, stopped at the scene to render aid according to the coroner’s office.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
